Thomas Müller
Drawings - April 06 until May 11, 2019
The gallery will be closed 26.2.-5.4.2019
opening: Saturday, 6.4.2019, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
"Each new drawing produces what is missing, each drawing a knot that expands and stabilizes the fabric. My work grows through repetition and deviation. A constantly changing network of references emerges."
In his work Müller uses various materials such as silver pencil, ballpoint pen, pencil, chalk, ink, oil and acrylic paint. He uses various techniques, he draws, paints over, cuts and collages. The result are works that sometimes tend more towards painting and sometimes more towards drawing.
"In the drawing, thinking becomes physical and immediate. Hesitation is a must, impure and fragmentary as well - and the hope that things may explain themselves to each other". (Thomas Müller)
In addition to A4 large drawings, which he presents in a specially developed open grid hanging, he creates sheets up to 196 x 140 cm in size. His works drawn line by line with a blue ballpoint pen are particularly well known.
Müller was born in Frankfurt in 1959. He lives and works in Stuttgart.
His works are part of important public and private collections in Germany and abroad.
After the two successful exhibitions in 2013 and 2015 we are looking forward to the third solo exhibition with drawings by Thomas Müller.
We show the exhibition of Thomas Müller parallel to ART COLOGNE (11. - 14.4.2019).
