lines - drawing and materiality

The drawing is increasingly recognized as an independent form of artistic expression.
The fact that many artists recently decided to use drawing as their exclusive artistic form of expression can be seen as a new development. The materials used in the artistic production are as various as the characters of the resulting lines.

The exhibition is dedicated to this new variety.

Chrstiane Loehr uses horse hair and needles for her wall object, while Brigitte Schwacke draws with thin wire. In case of Frank Gerritz a 2mm gap between two drawings evokes the line.Christian Froschs sculpture consists of a plastic cup destroyed by boat lacquer. Katharina Hinsberg transforms a line into a number of small holes drilled into the wall. The assamblage of seven drawings by Thomas Mueller as well as the powerful Indian ink and gouache works by Ronald Noorman are further variations of the exhibitions theme.
